Former Ambassador for Ghana AIDS Commission, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah has taken an HIV test on live Television to prove her status.
At a press conference held in Accra to ascertain the truth about her HIV status, Joyce Mensah made two out of her four children also take the test on live television.
The results of the HIV tests conducted indicate that her two kids do not have the virus [Non reactive].
But, the mother of four was shocked when her own result was read to her that she is carrying the virus [HIV+]. Another test carried out at the Cocoa Clinic corroborated same results with the one read on live television at the press conference.
The two tests conducted [One on Live Tv and the Other at Cocoa Clinic] have got the public wondering why in 2014, the HIV/AIDS Ambassador, told News-One she had never tested positive for HIV but was only telling the nation and the world on a lie just to satisfy her selfish interest.
Joyce has claimed over the years that she was HIV positive but was a healthy person because she was on antiretroviral drugs.
She has had support and funding from several organizations, institutions, banks and civil society in her campaign across the country on how to prevent HIV and how persons who have tested positive can live healthily and happily with the virus.
Surprisingly, Joyce, 27, told ‘News-One’ she was only a scammer and that she decided to engage in a wild public deceit so as to get a place to lay her head at a time her neighbors were wrongly accusing her of having HIV.
“I was known as the HIV ambassador. The story I shared in the past years was a fusion of my story and the stories of others. The truth of the matter is, I was never infected with HIV,” she said.
Reacting to her long standing feud with the Ghana AIDS Commission, Joyce Mensah expressed worry with regards to how she has been treated unfairly by the Commission.
She noted that the Commission refused to honour their promises they made to her.
