Mr. Juventus Duorinaah Esq., is the Executive Director of the Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD), hailing from Wa in the Upper West Region, has made history as the first deaf Ghanaian to be called to the bar on October 11, 2024 in Accra.
His journey of determination and resilience began at Wa School for the Deaf, where he completed his basic education, followed by his graduation from the Senior High Technical School for the Deaf (SHTSD) in 2007.
Mr. Duorinaah pursued a degree in sociology and political science at the University of Ghana, graduating with first-class honors.
He later earned a Master of Law degree with a focus on human rights law from Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics.
Upon returning to Ghana, he completed his law degree (LLB) at the University of Ghana, graduating with second-class lower honors.
After passing the Ghana School of Law’s entrance exams, Mr. Duorinaah embarked on a rigorous six-year legal education journey.
With unwavering dedication, he successfully completed the program and has now been officially called to the bar.
This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for the deaf community in Ghana.
Mr. Duorinaah’s legal expertise will enable him to advocate for the rights of deaf individuals and contribute to the advancement of human rights.
