The KABAKA Foundation has started its mass registration exercise of NHIS for people in Kwahu Nkwatia.

The KABAKA Foundation has started its mass registration exercise of NHIS for people in Kwahu Nkwatia.

The move, by the KABAKA Foundation is to offer a good and affordable heath care services for the Nkwatia people after the coronation of the founder and chairman of the Foundation, Nana Owiredu Wadie few weeks ago as the Nkosohene of Nkwatia.

In an interview with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic Fm on November 11, 2021, the executive director for the foundation, Dr Henry Larbi reiterated that KABAKA foundation is to ensure that, at least, indigenes of Kwahu have a proper and working health insurance card to access good health delivery in the country.

According to the executive director, health is beneficial in every aspects of every individual’s life. Dr Larbi revealed that, the chairman, Nana Owiredu Wadie is creating health financing through the KABAKA Foundation which is a donor and social service foundation that he founded to help alleviate poverty in Ghana, especially in the Kwahu-Nkwatia area.

Health is very important and so it’s our chairman’s priority to ensure that Kakaba Foundation supports people who need assistance to access proper health care”.

The foundation, is looking forward to at least, register one thousand (1,000) in Kwahu Nkwatia specifically. The process will be a 2-day intensive program which will end on Saturday, 13th November, 2021 at the Kwahu D/A basic school. The registration will include persons from 1-100 years.

According to Dr Henry, the process will mainly focus on people who have never registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme, which subsequently, will also focus on people who will have to renew their card and those that needs replacement.

Our main focus is to register people who have never had the NHIS card, then we also renew and issue replacement cards for such people”. He added

The program dubbed “KABAKA NHIS Mass Registration program” will be a periodically re-registration for all participants.

Meanwhile, Dr Henry stated that he process will begin at 8am in the morning and ends at 5pm in evening from from to Saturday with a free health screening for all participants in the process. The course will also be supported from the stuff from the of Nkwatia clinic and Akwaaba Community pharmacy.
