Kabaka Foundation registers Nkwatia residents for NHIS

The KABAKA Foundation with support from Nkwatia Clinic and Akwaaba Community Pharmacy, has embarked on a free health insurance registration exercise for residents of Kwahu Nkwatia.

The move, by the KABAKA foundation and its founder and chairman, Nana Owiredu Wadie is to offer a good and affordable heath care services for the Nkwatia people after his coronation few weeks ago as the Nkosouhene of Nkwatia.

In an interview with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic Fm on November 11th, 2021, the Executive Director for the Foundation, Dr. Henry Larbi reiterated the foundation is to ensure that, at least, indigenes of Kwahu have a proper and working health insurance card to access good health delivery in the country.

According to the Executive Director, health is beneficial in every aspects of our day in day out activities. Dr. Larbi revealed that, the chairman, Nana Owiredu Wadie is creating a health financing through the KABAKA Foundation which is a donor and social service foundation that he founded to help alleviate poverty in Ghana, especially the Kwahu Nkwatia.

“Health is very important and so it’s our chairman’s priority to ensure that Kakaba Foundation supports people who need assistance to access proper health care”.

The 2-day NHIS registration which ended on Saturday, 13th November, 2021 at the Kwahu D/A basic school included persons between ages 1-100 years.

According to Dr. Henry, the process mainly focused on people who have never registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme, individuals who want to renew their cards and those that needs replacement.

“Our main focus was to register people who have never had the NHIS card, then we also renewed and issued replacement cards for such people”. He added

Meanwhile, the registration ended with a free health screening for all participants in the process.
