Nana Owiredu Wadie I, Chairman and Founder of the Kabaka Foundation, and President of Okwawu United, is leading a charge to bring the club back to its home ground in Okwawu.
While the team will temporarily play its home matches at the Koforidua Stadium for the upcoming season, Wadie I, also known as NOW1, has called on Okwawu fans to rally behind the club’s efforts to return to Mpraeso. He believes this move is crucial for Okwawu United to secure its place in the Ghana Premier League.
In a meeting with club executive Kwadwo Akoto Bamfo, NOW1 pledged his full support for the redevelopment of the Mpraeso Park, a key step in bringing the club home. He has committed to raising substantial funds for the project, dubbed “The Legacy Project,” and urged Kwahu citizens and fans to contribute financially and materially.
The Mpraeso Park redevelopment is a community-driven initiative under the Kwahuman Club 100, aiming to create a world-class facility for Okwawu United and the local community. The project has already received support from the Mpraeso Constituency Office, VSA/Virtual Infosec Africa, Atala Limited, ESM Company, Hawkrad Group, Rocksters Roofing Systems, and the Kabaka Foundation.
Okwawu United, fresh off a runner-up finish in the GFA DOL Super Cup, is determined to make a strong push for promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
