Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana is battling time to be ready for the World Cup in Qatar.
The player picked up an ankle injury in training and was left out of the Rennes squad that faced AEK Larnaca in the last Europa League group game yesterday.
Manager of Stade Rennais Bruno Genesio confirmed the news after their Europa League game and expressed hope that the player would be fit before the World Cup.
“He had pain in his ankle yesterday, he was injured. I hope for him that he will be fine for the World Cup.”
The winger last season suffered a back injury that kept him out for days and has since struggled to get into the Rennes starting XI.
He has featured 14 times this season for his club scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Meanwhile, the head coach of the black stars Otto Addo will have to wait for the outcome of his injury to decide whether he will be part of the final squad of the black stars.
