Former Black Stars player Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially decided to end his football career at age 36.
The Hertha Berlin midfielder announced last season that he was going to retire at the end of the 2022–2023 season.
Boateng confirmed his retirement on Friday when he announced that he had said goodbye to football.
“I LOVE YOU. But that’s a WRAP for me. Thank you FOOTBALL for everything,” he officially announced via Instagram.
At the club level, the 36-year-old started his professional career by playing for German Bundesliga side Hertha BSC.
He went ahead, to play for many other top European clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Barcelona.
His incredible club career saw him win the Italian Serie A with AC Milan and also the Spanish LaLiga with FC Barcelona.
At the international level, he switched nationality from Germany to Ghana, making 15 appearances from 2010 to 2014 for the Black Stars, scoring 2 goals.
