Kintampo accident claims 22 lives

Twenty-two persons have lost their lives in a gory accident which occurred at Kintampo in the Bono East Region.

According to an eyewitness, the accident which occurred at about 11 pm on Sunday night involved a Yendi-Kumasi bound Grandbird bus with registration number AS 4635 – 22 and a truck with registration number GW 1127 – P.

The witness narrating the incident said, the truck veered off its lane into the lane of the bus in an attempt to avoid crashing into another car which was parked on the road.

In the event, the bus crashed into the truck killing 22 people and injuring many others.

The bodies have however been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital morgue while the injured persons are also receiving treatment at the same hospital.

The drivers of the two vehicles who are said to have survived the accident are currently in police custody.
