Akwasi Asamoah, 23, a Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) final year student has committed suicide.
The sadden incident happened at Adoato, a suburb of Bantama Constituency of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in the Ashanti Region.
Explaining the cause of the incident, a closed friend to the deceased, Akwasi said, he was with the late Asamoah last night around 11pm doing their normal chores.
He revealed that, the deceased recently changed his attitude and was behaving strangely and weirdly.
“He became quite, timid, somehow abnormal and always isolates himself from us”, the friend said.
“Last night he was so quite and I tried severally to push him to get a reason but to no avail. And this morning, we woke up to check on him in his house. Only to hear crying from family members and when I entered his room…… my friend, Kwadwo Asamoah, the KNUST final year science student was hanged in the room”, the tear jerking friend.
The body has since been deposited at the Hospital morgue.
