The Eastern Regional Highway Authority maintenance manager, Mr Ernest Osei Bonsu has clarified the speculating news that, the Koforidua – Adukrom road is damaged.
The highway, which forms part of the many roads within the New Juaben Municipality which has Koforidua as its capital has suffered a heavy defeat in the last hours of Tuesday after a heavy downpour.
In a disturbing video circulating online, a man identified as Oheneba could be heard narrating the ordeal helpless commuters are going through along the stretch.
In the video, some parts of the road has been totally ripped off its natural course, leaving behind three tiny piece of pipes as its been reported by the unknown person.
According to the video, it was reported that, the white man who has been contracted to oversee the construction of the bridge along the road has abandoned the road to its fate, forcing commuters to have a difficulty in using that very stretch of the road.
The road, which connects Koforidua, Adukrom and other parts parts of Somanya has been left in limbo, waiting on to cause mayhem before something can be done.
In the video intercepted by myrepubliconline.com, lot of commuters could be seen, dangling their feet into the deep high powered moving river identified as Afiase river, trying to make an adjoining cross to the other side of the bridge of the river.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional Highway Authority maintenance manager, Mr Ernest Osei Bonsu who spoke in an off chats with Kwame Koranteng on Anɔpa Dawuro on Republic Fm has clarified the speculating news, stating that, the cut off road from Koforidua to Adukrom and its environs has nothing to do with the main road, maintaining that, its not the main trunk road, but rather, just a mere temporal road for commuters to ply on before the completion of the main highway.
