Ofosu-Adjare revealed that land has been secured and engagements held with farmers to support the revival of the Komenda Sugar Factory, which is expected to be operationalised in 2026.

She added that the project will run alongside new garment factories and agro-processing plants, expected to create thousands of jobs for women and youth.

The Vice President’s visit to the ministry, described by the minister as “historic and deeply motivating,” underscored the administration’s commitment to industrial growth.

In remarks laced with gratitude, Ofosu-Adjare praised Opoku-Agyeman’s leadership.

“Your visit has encouraged us greatly. It tells us that our work matters and that we are being supported at the highest level. We are committed to doing even better,” she said.

The minister also lauded the Vice President for her inspirational role in motivating young girls nationwide, positioning her as a beacon for gender-inclusive development.

The visit ended with a renewed pledge from ministry leadership and staff to advance reforms, strengthen local industries, and collaborate on driving Ghana’s economic transformation.
