The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere, today paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty, the King of the Ga State, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at the palace with a delegation from the Hospital.
The visit was to formally introduce himself as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital. He said he had planned this visit since his appointment because of the existing relationship with the Hospital.
Dr. Owusu-Sekyere stated that a change in the leadership of the Hospital should not affect the highly commendable initiatives of His Majesty. He emphasized that this was the reason for his visit – to introduce himself and to ensure that the changes would not affect the continuation of the project.
Emphasizing the 24-hour pharmacy project, His Royal Majesty stated that the project is very dear to his heart because people should have access to quality and affordable drugs at all times.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer mentioned that he was looking forward to the early commencement of the project.
His Royal Majesty Nii Teiko Tsuru disclosed that the president of the Latter-day Saints Church had promised to support the construction of a state-of-the-art children’s hospital in Korle Bu. He asked the Hospital to allocate five to 10 acres of land to start the project.
Dr. Owusu-Sekyere expressed extreme excitement upon receiving this news, stressing that as a paediatrician, he strongly appreciates the enormous relief this project would bring to pediatric healthcare delivery in the hospital.
These projects are a partnership between the Sempe Stool, the Office of the Ga Mantse, and the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The Acting Chief Executive Officer presented gifts to His Royal Majesty. He was accompanied by the Director of Pharmacy, Dr. Charles Ofei Palm, the Director of Administration, Mr. Munir Alhassan, and Public Relations representatives.
