Security officers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital through a special operation have arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing blood.
In a statement released by the Korle Bu Public Relations Unit, the activities of the group came to the attention of the security on a tip-off.
The security officers then mounted surveillance that eventually led to the arrest of the suspects on Saturday, May 22 around 2am.
The suspects have been handed over to the Korle Bu Police which has initiated investigations into the case.

The Korle Bu Security through a special operation has arrested and handed over two suspected blood thieves to the police.
The activities of the group came to the attention of the security on a tip-off. They then mounted surveillance that eventually led to the arrest of the suspects this morning around 2am.
They were arrested at the Surgical third floor when they made the attempt to steal pints of blood that had been mobilized for various surgical procedures.
The suspects have been handed over to the Korle Bu Police which has initiated investigations into the case.
We urge staff to be vigilant when they see any suspicious activity going on in the Hospital and to immediately alert the security to forestall the occurrence of any untoward incidents in the hospital
