Kumasi Asante Kotoko picked up crucial three points against Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi Wednesday afternoon in match week nine, in the Betpawa Premier League.
Kotoko had dropped six points in their last two games before the League went on break to make way for the Qatar 2022 World.
Kotoko started the game well, with creating a lot of chances in the first half but failed to get a goal, making Chelsea capitalize on a poor clearance from Andrew Apau to give the visitors a 1-0 lead on the 27th minute through Emmanuel Sarpong.
Just before the end of the first half, Serge Zeze who came on as a substitute scored to bring Kotoko on level in a beautiful build up where Mukwala’s low cross was tapped in by Zeze.
The Porcupine Warriors took the lead on the 65th minute, as Mukwala who was poorly marked in the 18-yard box, headed past Obeng Sekyere.
The Ugandan attacker looked very lively in the game but was unlucky when his second goal was flagged offside.
Kotoko is now second on the league table with 17 points, with just two points behind league leaders Aduana Stars.
