Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has expressed disappointment in how former management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has run the club.
He said this during a meeting at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to address issues of club debt as well as the management of the club.
Speaking to former players, supporters, and some other stakeholders who were present, he charged the club to clear its debt of over GHc3 million and also make new signings before the start of a new BetPawa Ghana Premier League season.
“The current debt is from hotel expenses, players’ salaries and wages which have been accrued also from the last two months adding June and July. So we have this debt to clear, before also finding a way around player recruitment.”
“Asante Kotoko is the only institution disgracing me,” he said.
He also urged the management of the club to put the club first to avoid division in the team.
‘If you don’t put the club first and decide to put your individual interest ahead of the team, it will never succeed. You supporters should show your commitment to the club instead of individuals,” he added.
