Krachi East Municipal Assembly conducts desilting exercise in Dambai

The Municipal Chief Executive, Sarfo Nketia, together with the Krachi East Municipal Assembly, has embarked on a massive desilting exercise to clear choked gutters in Dambai. The initiative aims to promote cleanliness, improve sanitation, and prevent flooding within the municipality.

The exercise was necessitated by the realization that most gutters in the municipality were clogged with filth, contributing to flooding during the rainy season. The MCE emphasized the importance of keeping the gutters clean to prevent flooding and its associated risks.

During the exercise, Sarfo Nketia seized the opportunity to warn residents against the practice of throwing refuse into the gutters. He stressed that this habit exacerbates flooding and compromises the municipality’s sanitation.

The MCE reiterated the importance of cleanliness, quoting the adage “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” The exercise demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to improving the municipality’s sanitation and preventing flooding.

The desilting exercise is part of the Assembly’s efforts to engage with the community and address pressing environmental concerns. The initiative is expected to enhance the municipality’s drainage system and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for residents.
