Kumasi Asante Kotoko recorded a narrow victory over Burkinabe side RC Kadiogo in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors missed several chances in the game but were fortunate to find the win in the dying minutes of the game through Isaac Oppong.

The Kumasi based club will be delighted to have scored an away goal to put them in the lead heading into the second leg which will be played at the Baba Yara stadium on September 18.

The winner of the two-legged tie will face the winner of the game between Gaborone United Sporting Club and AS Vita Club of DR Congo in the next round.

Kotoko, two-time African champions are hoping to qualify for the CAF Champions League after missing the continental show piece on several occasions.
