Member of Parliament for Sekyere Kumawu constituency in the Ashanti, Ernest Yaw Anim, has advised parents to take interest in their wards’ preparation for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The MP made this statement when he donated mathematical sets to candidates in his constituency and also made transport arrangements for them ahead of their exams with the aim of developing the education system in his constituency.
In donating the items, Mr. Anim urged parents not to allow their kids to roam about but rather to keep them at home and help them prepare.
District Chief Executive Officer for the area, Samuel Addai Agyekum, also advised candidates to take advantage of the free SHS and come out with flying colors in order to be placed in schools of their choice.
Not forgetting the teachers, the DCE also commended them for their good work and encouraged them to work harder.
Receiving the items and ensuring district supervision and Monitoring of education, Mr. Nti Danso thanked the MP for his kindness towards the candidates and assured proper distribution of the items for the fulfillment of their purpose.
Over 600,000 candidates across the country are expected to sit for this year’s BECE, which is scheduled for Monday, August 7, to Friday, August 11, 2023.
