The Kuntenase District Court presided over by his Worship Francis Asakiah, has remanded into police custody three suspects who have been arrested for killing of a headmaster, Isreal Adjei Manu, at Feyiase Akoyem in the Bosomtwi District of Ashanti Region.
The three according to the police are Rashid Ibrahim, a 32-year-old labourer who has been charged with murder, while the other two, 35-year-old assistant fetish priest, Richard Addai, and 22-year-old labourer, Anthony Sekum have been charged with abetment of crime.
The prosecutor who doubles as the District Police Commander for Kuntenase, DSP Eric Akwaboah, told the court that their preliminary investigation reveals the main suspect has been identified as Black Akasha, a fetish priest who is currently on the run.
The three are to reappear before the court on 22nd July 2021.
The lifeless body of Isreal Adjei Manu, a headmaster who doubles as a Bolt driver, was found at Feyiase Akoyem on Sunday, July 4, 2021, as his head was cut off.
A search team of the police and community members led to the retrieval of the head few metres away from the body.
Ascertaining the fact of the matter from the assembly member of the area, Hon. Samuel Yaw Kwai aka Bongo that, a woman in the area said to have heard a loud cry nearby which ceased briefly.
Samuel Kwai added that, section of the residents later found the beheaded body of Mr. Mensah dumped on a pathway in the area.
It took the intervention of a search team led by the assembly member to find the head together with a mobile phone and wallet containing cash metres away from the body. Samuel Kwai says the deceased is unknown to them.
The head was found with many machete cuts. It was unearthed that, Israel was a headmaster but uses his private white Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 317021 as Uber during weekends.
