The District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, Samuel Asamoah, has handed over 1,000 mono desks to public basic, secondary and technical schools in the district to improve teaching and learning conditions.

The distribution ceremony took place at the District Assembly forecourt in Abetifi on Wednesday, June 10, with education officials, headteachers, and assembly members present. The desks were procured through the District Assembly’s Common Fund and other internal revenue sources. It is part of the backlog in 2025.

Speaking at the event, Samuel Asamoah said the intervention was aimed at reducing the furniture deficit in schools and ending situations where pupils sit on floors or share limited desks.

“Education remains a priority for this assembly. These 1,000 desks will go directly to schools that need them most, so every child can have a proper place to sit and learn,” he said.
