The Kwahu East District Assembly, spearheaded by its District Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Agyapong says it has tightened security ahead of the Kwahu Easter celebration.
The Kwahu Easter is mostly organised and celebrated in the southern part of the Kwahu block, meanwhile, other events are organized and held in the Kwahu East District as well.
While speaking to Kwame Koranteng on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro on Monday, April 11, the DCE outlined certain key arrangements that has been made to ensure safer and free movement of persons in Kwahu and visitors coming for the Easter.
The DCE, Isaac Agyapong made it known that there has been key stakeholders engagement between the various security agencies, including the Police, fire Service and other agencies.
“We have few days to the festival, and Kwahu East, we have made a lot of preparations and you know most of the celebration goes on in the Kwahu South but we have spoken to the security agencies and they will provide maximum security during the Easter”, he stated.
The DCE, could not rule out the 30th anniversary of Akyemfour Agyemang Asiedu, the Kwahu Adontenhene and the Chief of Kwahu – Abetifi, which according to the DCE will bring in a lot of visitors.
During the Assembly’s first ordinary meeting of the Kwahu East on Thursday, April 7, DCE stated that security services are tasked to beef up their personnel to control the crowd and protect life and properties during the festivities.
“We have engaged the security services and they are tasked to beef up their men in order to ensure crowd control, protect lives and property”.
The DCE further urged citizens to continue to observe the Covid-19 protocols, however, wearing of face masks is not compulsory.
