The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the return of the highly anticipated Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival, scheduled to take place from April 18 to April 21, 2025, at the picturesque summit of the Odweanoma Mountains in Atibie-Kwahu.

The event, which has become a major international attraction, marks its twentieth edition and promises yet another thrilling experience for adventure seekers and tourists.

The festival is organized annually by the GTA under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, in partnership with the Ghana Tourist Development Company, Kwahu East District Assembly, Kwahu South and Kwahu West Municipal Assemblies, Kwahu Development Association, Kwahu Tourism Initiative, and the Kwahu Traditional Council.

Renowned tandem pilots from around the world have been invited to fly participants from the Odweanoma Mountain to Nkawkaw Stadium.

This year’s pilots include Blake Daniel Pelton from the USA, Lamina Ilea from Romania, Eduardo Reategui Vera from Peru, Edward Allan Stein from the USA, Hugen Muhlich from Germany, Chuck Smith from the USA, and Jonathan Quaye from Ghana.

Exciting Activities and Entertainment

Beyond paragliding, the 2025 festival will feature a variety of additional activities. There will be a health walk for participants to engage in physical exercise. Fun games and children’s activities will be available to keep younger attendees entertained. The event will also include electronic games for tech enthusiasts. A fun dance competition will allow participants to showcase their dance skills, while a proverb challenge will test attendees’ knowledge of traditional wisdom.

In addition, the festival will feature outdoor traditional games such as oware, ludu, draughts, and card games, offering visitors a chance to engage in popular local pastimes. Live music and entertainment will be provided to create a festive atmosphere throughout the event. There will also be opportunities for attendees to purchase food, souvenirs, and tour packages.

Ticket Prices and Registration

The standard flight ticket for paragliding at the festival is priced at GHC 1,350 per flight. However, an early bird ticket will be available from March 18 to March 31, 2025, at a discounted price of GHC 1,250.

Interested participants can register via https://visitghana.com/event/paragliding or contact 0244161585 / 0200524805 / 0244657715 for further inquiries.

This year’s Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival is expected to attract thousands of local and international visitors, further promoting domestic tourism and adventure sports in Ghana.
