The Kabaka Foundation has commissioned and handed over for use the mechanized Dente water project at Nkwatia-KKwahu in the Eastern Region.
The Dente Water project is made up of two 10,000-liter mechanized polytank water supplies. The water project, according to the executive director for the KABAKA foundation, Dr. Henry Larbi, will serve major sub-towns within the Nkwatia-Kwahu region, especially the Nkwatia Health Center and St. Peter’s SHS.
Speaking to a team of pressmen, Dr. Larbi noted that the Chief of Nkwatia appealed to Nana Owiredu Wadie and the KABAKA foundation to support the community in renovating the Dente River and mechanizing it, which was initially engulfed with some filth due to people fetching the water with their direct buckets into the river.
According to him, KABAKA foundation upon request brought in experts to work on the project.
The river now passes sterilization before it gets to the two 10,000 poly tank each.
“The Chief of Nkwatia and his elders appealed to the Nana Owiredu Wadie to assist the town to renovate the Dente River, near the Nkwatia Clinic because there were some filths. They wanted it to be mechanized to avoid people being fetched directly with their buckets from the river. Upon the request, KABAKA Foundation brought in its experts, and we have been able to mechanize.
It goes through sterilisation before it gets to the Polytank, and it’s free, we’re not taking money from anyone.
Dr. Larbi used the opportunity and urged the Unit committees to manage the Water project judiciously to serve the people.
The KABAKA Foundation is a charity organisation foundation founded by Nana Owiredu Wadie some five years ago.
The foundation was started based on the corporate social responsibility of his company (KABAKA Construction and Investment Ltd).
Nana Owiredu Wadie last year constructed a Divisional Police Command headquarters for Nkwatia and presented a brand pick-up to the police service.
He also constructed a high Court for the Kwahu East District in Nkwatia and has further renovated most schools within the Nkwatia – Kwahu enclave.
