The Nkawkaw Methodist Junior High School A, has now become a haven for hardened bandits and miscreants.
The school, which is situated in the heart of the Nkawkaw Central Business District in the Kwahu West Municipality is unfit with lot of skirmishes, ready to cause havoc.
The school, according to findings gathered by Republic Press’s Andy Frimpong Manso has been in existence since 1946 or even later.
However, the school, which is in its current dilapidated form hasn’t experienced any renovation or reconstruction or whatsoever.
The very old -fashioned and archaic structure remained untouched, with loosed and wrenched roofing sheets, resulting in a leaked – scene whenever it rains.
Our findings further revealed that town folks have now converted the remnants of the densely – populated old structure into football field, where it is alleged that, some youth from the Zongo community consistently threaten teachers with knives when they are being confronted to desist from using the facility as football pitch.
Our sources further established that, the school currently, with a combination of the form one and two respectively, had over one – hundred – twenty students, making teaching and learning very difficult due to inadequate classrooms.
At about 13:00GMT on Saturday when our team visited the facility, you could see bandits, some of them hopping around and others resting on the banks of the old structure.
Most of the doors of the school are left open without locks, with some of them having windows ripped off completely.
Another adjacent building which is in its near collapse stage has been left unnoticed, posing threats and danger to the school pupils.
