The Presbyterian University, Ghana, has inducted new entrants of various academic programmes into the University.

At the matriculation ceremony on Friday, February 23, at the University Headquarters in Abetifi-Kwahu, the Vice Chancellor for the University, Prof. John Ofosu Anim indicated that this occasion marks the beginning of a transformational journey for every University.

‘I stand before you today with great pride and joy as we gather to celebrate the matriculation of our newest members to this esteemed institution’, he stated

The University, through its entire campuses, matriculated a total number of 1042 fresh students. The campuses are Tema, Akuapem, Agogo and Abetifi Kwahu (the Headquarters of the University).

‘Today is not just about enrollment or registration; It’s about embracing the profound responsibilities and opportunities that come with being a part of this academic family. Matriculation is a symbolic rite of passage, signalling your official entry into the academic life of our university.

It signifies your commitment to learning, growth and the pursuit of knowledge. Today PUG is matriculating students from the Akuapem and Tema campuses and you are part of a total of 1042 fresh students that have gained admission into various programmes”,

Prof. Anim advised the students to emulate good behaviour and embrace their studies, for it’s the only way they can become successful and useful to society.

“You’re now part of the community that values curiosity, critical thinking, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Our institution has a rich history of fostering intellectual curiosity and producing individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions to their respective fields. As you step into this hallowed institution, I urge you to carry the torch of curiosity forward.

The University experience is not just about attending classes and earning grades. It is about engaging in a historic journey of self-discovery, personal development, and intellectual exploration. Take advantage of the diverse academic programs, the wealth of resources at your disposal, and the guidance of our esteemed faculty members who are not just teachers but mentors and guides in your academic journey.

I encourage you to be active participants in the vibrant campus life. Participate in extracurricular activities and network with your fellow students. These experiences will shape not only your time at the University but also your outlook on life and your role in society.

As you embrace on this academic adventure, remember that challenges will be inevitable. However, it is through facing these challenges that you will grow, learn, and emerge stronger. Embrace every opportunity for growth, and don’t shy away from stepping outside your comfort zone” he added.

The PUG offers BSc Accounting and Finance, BSc Banking and Financing, BSc Human Resource Management, BSc General Management, BSc Marketing, BSc Agribusiness, BSc Information and Communication Technology and BSc Computer Engineering.
