Passengers, traders, and drivers traveling from Adawso to Ekye Amanfrom and Afram Plains North have been stranded after a ferry breakdown on the Afram River.

The situation, which started a day earlier, has disrupted movement along the busy route, causing frustration among commuters who remain uncertain about when services will resume.

Some affected passengers complained about poor communication from ferry operators, noting the lack of clear updates, as well as limited access to food and shelter while waiting to continue their journeys.

The disruption has also impacted local economic activities, as the route serves as a vital transport link for traders and residents in the area.

District Chief Executive Moses Tangmee has acknowledged the challenge and assured the public that steps are being taken to address the situation.

According to him, discussions are ongoing with the Volta Lake Transport Company to deploy a replacement ferry and restore services.

Meanwhile, stranded commuters have renewed calls on the government to construct a bridge over the Afram River to provide a more reliable and permanent transport solution.
