Kwahu West Assembly to demolish ‘Agbogbloshie ghetto’ after murder of Musician 

The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu West, Tamimu Halidu has directed the total demolition of all unapproved temporal structures, situated around the Agbogbloshie market enclave, cited as a haven for criminal activities within the Nkawkaw Municipality.

The directive comes after an extensive security meeting held on Monday, November 3.

A statement signed by the Municipal coordinating director, Mr. Daniel Nkrumah on behalf of the MCE and released on Tuesday, November 4, acknowledged that the demolition exercise will take place on Thursday, November 6.

The letter, however, declared that, all persons living in the enclave are advised accordingly, to evacuate in addition with your personal belongings.

It also noted that, the demolition has become necessary after its findings clearly established that the unfortunate incident that took the life of Frederick Osei Buabeng, also known as Phada Gaza was necessitated by the growing gangsterism that has taken over the area.

Background

On Sunday, November 2, an upcoming Nkawkaw-based musician, born Frederick Osei Buabeng (Phada Gaza) was inhumanely killed after an altercation with a leader of a rival group. According sources available to Republic Online, there has been a serious rift between Phada Gaza and one Quarshigah over the past 4 years. Sources say, the late Phada Gaza has on many times provoked Quarshigah who has on severally avoided any physical altercations with Gaza.

However, on Sunday morning, a heated disagreement ensued after Phada Gaza had exchanged words with a subordinate to Quarshigah, who fled the scene and informed his boss about the development. Quarshigah and Gaza, who were both at loggerheads with each engaged in a dangerous rancour that led to Gaza stabbing Quarshigah in the eye. Quarshigah, after noticing the damage caused to his eyes, profusely held Gaza in the neck and pressed him until Gaza lost breath, and subsequently secured a knife from Gaza’s hand and cut him in different parts of his body.

Security officers were deployed to the Holy Family Hospital after Gaza’s men had stormed the facility to attack an injured Quarshigah but were prevented.

The body of the late Phada Gaza has been deposited at the morgue of the Holy family hospital in Nkawkaw. An injured Quarshigah has also been transferred to Accra for further treatment, according to information available to Republic Online.
