The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Tamimu Halidu, has commissioned seven community-based projects in Nkawkaw and its environs aimed at improving living conditions and boosting local development.
The projects commissioned on Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28, executed within the first year of his administration, included the Fodoa Zonal Council Office—the first of its kind in the history of Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, with another Zonal Council Office coming up at Asuboni Rails. This is a major step towards bringing decentralised governance and development closer to our people.
Additional commissioned projects were the Fodoa Small Town Water System, Trado/Akuadjoo Ultra-Modern KG Block, White House/Asuboni Mechanised Borehole, Adoagyire 440 Mechanised Borehole, and Zongo Mechanised Borehole.
Five additional mechanised boreholes have been commissioned at Monsie, Asuosu, Kwatiesi, Nkawkaw Nsuta & Zaragoza.

Mr. Tamimu Halidu said the projects form part of his commitment to ensuring equitable development and addressing the basic needs of the people in the municipality.
“Today we are commissioning seven projects that directly touch the lives of our people. Water, education, trading, and sanitation are basic needs. My administration is committed to bringing development to every corner of Kwahu West,” he stated.
He said the mechanized boreholes will provide potable water for communities that have struggled with water shortages, while the classroom block at Akuadjoo will help end the shift system and improve teaching and learning.
He assured residents that more projects are in the pipeline, including road reshaping, street lights installation, and expansion of the Nkawkaw Central market.

The Chiefs commended the MCE for his proactive leadership and urged him to continue prioritizing the needs of rural communities.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Assembly Members, heads of departments, NDC supporters, and traditional leaders.
