The Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive nominee, Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo has unanimously been confirmed as the MCE for the assembly for the second time.
In accordance with article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and sub section 20 (1) of the Local Government Act, 2016 Act 936 re-nominated Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly.
Hon Lawyer Yaw Owusu Addo pulled 36 votes of confidence out of the total 38, with two votes of No after the assembly members were made to cast their secret voting.
The MCE after his confirmation, admonished his colleague assembly members for such a great decision to maintain him to continue his good works.
“I would like to thank my colleague assembly members. They have done well for believing in me once more. Thank you for working with me for the last four years. If you go on an examination and pull 95%, it means you’re doing well, even if it’s Oxford, you’d have maintained the A grade”. He added
Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional minister, Hon Seth Kwame Acheampong who was present at the ceremony and was subsequently mandated by the President to facilitate the oath and swearing in of the MCE, congratulated the MCE and the assembly members for a peaceful and a decisive will to confirm the MCE.
He, therefore, called for unity and a distinct Organization among the MCEs and DCEs within the Kwahu block to speed up the process of development in the province.
“What has happened here today literally shows that the Kwahu people are keen on amassing developments for our people and so I will congratulate each and every one of you for partaken in this process. We are not going to depart from the agenda of lobbying for Developments in kwahu” he stressed.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony was the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, Hon. Seth Adjei Baah former MP for Nkawkaw, Hon Kaakyire Kwabena Adusa, former MP Nkawkaw, Hon Joseph Frimpong MP for Nkawkaw, Hon Eric Kwaakye Darfour former MP and Eastern Regional minister, Nana Effah Opinamang || Obomeng Hene, Nana Ampadu Daaduam Mpraeso Hene, Nkawkaw Sariki Zongo chief and the Kwahu West clergy of Christian Churches.
Hon. Yaw Owusu Addo in once of his acceptance speech expressed his desire and commitment to ensure the total transformation and redevelopment of the Kwahu West Municipality.
