The Nkawkaw Area Head of the church of Pentecost, Prophet Foster Akwasi Aniakwah has urged Churches and religious leaders to live in peace with both traditional and political leaders to promote development.
Speaking at a ceremony at the kwahuhene palace, where prayers were said for the chief, the Pentecost priest in a sermon, titled ; Roles of kings in the transformation agenda, urged chiefs to govern their people with biblical principles to ensure discipline and transformation.
He lamented the diminishing cycle of royal consciousness in the society and urged the youth who come from royal homes not to abandon royalty and live according to the dictates of their calling in order to save the future of the royal office.
Prophet Aniakwah recalled that in the days of the Bible, kings were coroneted as a sign of political power and were subsequently anointed with oil to acknowledge that they have been selected by GOD to lead.
He reminded the kwahuhene that “God has given you a responsibility to deliver, be bold and not be intimidated to take initiatives that will bring transformation and development to your people”
He urged the people to honour the office of the Omanhene and assist him to succeed in his role as a representative of God on earth.
On his part, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong, thanked the Pentecost church for the honour done him and gave the assurance that he will lead the people of Kwahu with godly principles.
He stated that he will continue to rely on God to take decisions that will bring development to his people.
Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong urged all to let love lead in all things, saying that “Where there is no love, acrimony and rancour become the order of the day”
To further deepen engagement with the chieftaincy institution in order to impart values of the kingdom of God to traditional authorities, the church of Pentecost has outlined the following action plans to be taken.
A chieftaincy ministry committee will be set up at the national level to facilitate the church’s engagements with the chieftaincy institution. The committee will operate directly under the office of the chairman. This will be replicated at the area and district levels.
“We shall continue to organise conferences and training programmes for the chieftaincy institution”.
“Guidance for Christian Royals”, a practical handbook for Christian chiefs currently being put together, will be expedited for publication and use
“In order to transform certain aspects of our culture and to promote community development, we shall continue to encourage and guide our members who are royals and feel called by God to enter into chieftaincy”
The church will be encouraged to devote time for traditional rulers in order to provide chaplaincy services to the chieftaincy institution
The church went on to commission a washroom project for the palace.
