Former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah has applied to be the head coach of the Black Stars for the third time.
The Ghana national team has been without a coach after coach Otto Addo, who led the team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup resigned just after the tournament.
The Ghana Football Association has since indicated that they are in search of a new coach to lead the team.
Meanwhile, coach Kwesi Appiah, who was the head coach of the Black Stars between 2012 and 2014, and 2019 as well as confirmed to Kumasi-based Sompa FM that he has re-applied for the job.
“It is true. When I heard the Ghana Football Association has come out to say that no Ghanaian coach had shown interest, I felt that being a Ghanaian, we should prove that we are competent to do the job and that is why I applied,” he said.
The Ghana Football Association has indicated that a new coach will be appointed in the coming weeks.
