Lab Scientists at KATH resume work after strike action

Barely a week ago, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) laboratory workers threatened to strike over the instantaneous re-assigning of two medical specialists, Lesley Osei and Eunice Agyemang.

Lesley Osei and Eunice Agyemang Ahmed were assigned to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Laboratory Service Department (LSD) two years ago by the Medical Director as haematologists.

In an interview with the Chairman for Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist at KATH, Dr. Ernest Badu Boateng, said in an engagement with the Parliamentary Select Committee came to an agreement on resuming work on Wednesday after their engagement.

According to Dr. Ernest Badu Boateng, they petitioned Parliament to uphold, Lesley Osei and Eunice Agyemang Ahmed from the Laboratory Service Department (LSD).

Although the two medical specialist are still there but they ought to resume work on Wednesday and also pleaded on the other related associations such as Federation of Allied Health Professionals , various groups and all chapters in the country to resume work for the benefit of lives.

In furtherance, he said Chairman of Parliament Select Committee promised them two months to resolve their petition.

Dr. Ernest Badu lastly, urged Ghanaians to go for lab test because they have resumed work whilst they await the engagement they had with parliament.
