What started as a simple social media acquaintance has culminated in sorrow, with a young woman named Osaro Festus discovered deceased and interred in a shallow grave close to the home of a man she visited about two months earlier.
Reports indicate that Osaro connected with a man named Joshua on social media at some point this year. On April 20, 2025, she left her family residence accompanied by a female companion, informing her parents that she was going to see someone.
Prior to meeting Joshua, she took a safety measure by sending her friend a photo of him, possibly indicating her awareness of potential danger.
This would mark the final occasion her family would be aware of her whereabouts. When Osaro did not return home and all attempts to reach her were unsuccessful, her family reported her as missing.
A two-month search involving worried relatives and law enforcement eventually led them back to Joshua’s residence.
During questioning, Joshua stated that Osaro had died after falling during a dispute.
He did not provide a clear rationale for not notifying authorities or reaching out to her family regarding the incident.
Instead, he guided investigators to a shallow grave located near his property, where Osaro’s remains were discovered.
