A significant landslide has completely blocked the major road connecting Nkawkaw and Obomeng in the Kwahu region, caused by the collapse of sedimentary rocks from the Kwahu mountain.
According to a report by Andy Frimpong Manso of Republic Press, the collapse occurred following an intense downpour on Saturday, June 29.
The damage is severe, rendering the road entirely impassable for commuters and drivers.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported at the time of the collapse.
The incident has been reported to the Kwahu South Department of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), which has deployed a team to assess the situation.
