Lawyers representing Henry Nana Boakye, former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), have issued a formal demand for retraction and apology over what they describe as defamatory allegations made in an investigative report aired by TV3.
The legal demand, addressed to the Media Foundation for West Africa and signed by Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah of Sarkodie Baffour Awuah & Partners, claims that the TV3 report, titled “NSS Scandal, The Inside Story“, falsely linked Boakye to alleged fraudulent activities at the NSA.
According to the letter, the broadcast included his name and image, implying his involvement in mismanagement and misconduct at the Authority between 2017 and 2024.
The letter clarifies that Boakye served as Deputy Executive Director of the NSA only between January 2017 and September 2018 before resigning to assume his role as the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It argues that attributing responsibility for NSA operations beyond his tenure is misleading and defamatory.
Boakye’s legal team has demanded that within seven days of receipt of the letter, TV3 and other media outlets that republished the claims issue a full retraction and apology, giving the correction the same prominence as the original allegations.
The letter warns that failure to comply will result in legal action against the media organizations involved.
