The president of the Bono regional house of chiefs and also the paramount chief for the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osaagyefo Oseadeyor Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has proposed initiatives to empower young people with employment opportunities in the Bono region.

Speaking during the Grand Durbar of the M3ko Bono 2024 Homecoming and Festival, which took place on Saturday, August 10, at Techiman, Dormaahene suggested creating a five-year development plan with an annual goal to support the construction of infrastructure that will generate job possibilities.

He clarified that their goal should be 2 million Ghana cedis this year, followed by 10 million in 2025, 20 million in 2026, 30 million in 2027, 50 million in 2028, and 100 million in 2029. He also pledged to contribute 10% of each of these amounts. Dormaahene stated that they would use this money to establish the infrastructure necessary to generate jobs.

He appealed to the other chiefs in the Bono enclave to help him realise this objective so that, after five years, jobs may be created.

He also urged friends, family, and other stakeholders living abroad to contribute to the effort of giving young people access to employment possibilities.

Nana Kofi Kofi Yeboah Seth (King Setho) on behalf of the M3ko Bono organisers thanked all of the chiefs, stakeholders, and members of the public for helping to make the event a success.

He emphasised that maintaining harmony inside the bono enclave is the primary goal of the event’s organising.
