A lifeless newborn baby has been found inside a box near a gutter at a dumping site close to the Tesano Cluster of Schools in Accra.
According to reports, pupils from the school who had gone to the site to relieve themselves found the lifeless baby in the box.
The pupils reported what they saw to residents around them, who went to find out for themselves.
“One of the boys informed us that there was a baby here, and we investigated and realized the baby was not crying and found out that it was lifeless. It is very worrying that someone will bring a baby and just put it in front of our doorstep like that”, an eyewitness said.
The witness mentioned that the box containing the baby had the name “Linda” written on it.
Police in the area have, however, retrieved the baby to begin investigations.
