Lil Win granted GH¢50K bail, case adjourned to June 27

Actor Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win has been granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties by the Asokore Mampong District Court.

The actor was arrested by the police from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Manhyia Divisional Command moments after he was discharged from the hospital on Monday, June 3.

His arrest follows a recent accident which claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy while the actor was on his way to premiere his film “A Country Called Ghana”.

According to reports, the actor was speeding and driving in the wrong lane.

In court, Lil Win was charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm.

The prosecution said they were still investigating the matter and insisted the accused should avail himself wherever he was needed adding that the case was delayed due to the health condition of the accused.

However, Counsel for Lil Win, Margaret Adjei-Twum said her client suffered injuries including internal bleeding and should be granted bail to go through treatment.

She also told the court that, her client was a popular person in the country and would not escape from the court as the case proceeded.

The case has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.
