The Ghana Union of Traders Association has urged its members to adjust the prices of goods and services as the cedi begins to stabilize.
According to GUTA, members should reduce prices to ease the burden on the consuming public.
“As the value of the Cedi begins to appreciate, GUTA wishes to appeal to members of the business community to also adjust prices of goods and services accordingly, to make the consuming public feel the impact of this positive trend.”
They also urged the government to continue efforts to further help the cedi stabilize.
“We urge the Government to continue with more efforts to sustain the program and bring relief to the business community,” a statement signed by President Dr Joseph Obeng said.
GUTA however is hopeful that the Cedi will continue to appreciate while the economy turns around “in the shortest possible time”.
