Maamobi – Nima Clash: Police acted swiftly – Security Analyst

Security and Crime analyst, Richard Kumador has commended the Ghana Police Service for its swift response to the containment of the chaos that erupted at Maamobi and Nima areas later yesterday.

The security topnotch said, the police accurate response was very necessary to which the entire crime scene and both communities have been under siege by the police showing how impressive and challenging the police service has become.

He charged the police to not kowtow to any acts of violence and intimidations by the general public. Mr. Kumador also entreated the police to ensure that the time has come for the service to properly roll out Close Circuit Cameras (CCTV) just in the advent case a crime is committed, they can be able to trace and ascertain the offenders.

“That particular area is a high intensity crime area, police must pay more critical patrolling in the area. And also, there must be more CCTV cameras in the area to help the police in knowing when crimes will be committed.

According to Mr. Kumador, in every crime condition, there are root causes and immediate causes, and so investigations will determine what the root causes are, as far as this incident is concerned.

“We have root and immediate causes in every crime condition but what really matters is the swiftness at which the police acted means that crime prevention is a number priority for the Ghana Police Service and so we congratulate them”
