As part of his working visit to the Western Region today, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama visited Apemenim to inspect the abandoned site for the new Western Regional Hospital.
The President announced that in line with his campaign promise and his “resetting agenda,” the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government will complete the hospital project in the next 18 months.
He expressed optimism that at his next visit to the region, he would be commissioning the hospital project.
He reiterated his commitment to complete all abandoned projects.
According to him, this pledge is not rhetoric but something he will pursue.
“I am aware of the sorry state of roads within the district and I can assure you that under the BigPushProjects, no region will be left out from the construction of major arterial roads and the District Road Improvement Programe (DRIP) which is targeting 10km of roads each year for the next 5 years to improve your road network,” he said on Facebook.

As part of my working visit to the Western Region today, I visited Apemanim to inspect the abandoned site for the new Western Regional Hospital.
The 250-bed hospital was abandoned in 2023. In line with my campaign promise and my #ResettingGhana agenda, this government will complete the hospital project in the next 18 months.
I am optimistic that my next visit will be the commissioning of the project.
During the campaign, I promised to continue all projects and I meant my words. I am aware of the sorry state of roads within the district and I can assure you that under the #BigPushProjects, no region will be left out from the construction of major arterial roads and the District Road Improvement Programe (DRIP) which is targeting 10km of roads each year for the next 5 years to improve your road network.
