President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver his State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Friday, February 27, 2026, in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.

Ahead of the address, Parliament has issued detailed guidelines to regulate media coverage of the event.
In a notice signed by the Director of Media Relations, Mr. David Sebastian Damoah, editors and journalists were reminded that accreditation is mandatory for access to the Chamber.
Journalists who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Corps have been directed to submit their applications not later than Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with the caution that failure to obtain accreditation will result in the denial of access.
“All journalists should ensure that their accreditation is conspicuously displayed throughout the event,” the notice stated, adding that media personnel must restrict themselves to designated areas indicated on their accreditation tags.
Parliament also declared the Rt. Hon. Speaker’s lobby out of bounds for photography, interviews, and any other related media engagements.

To reduce congestion, a clean feed will be provided for rebroadcast, with media houses encouraged to rely on it to avoid overcrowding at the public gallery.
All interviews and live broadcasts are to be conducted at the Foyer on the ground floor of the Chamber block at Parliament House, where space allocation will be on a first come first served basis.
The statement further noted that media houses and reporters will undergo security screening, including checks on equipment and gadgets, as part of measures to ensure a smooth and secure event.
