President-elect John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to his potential appointees, emphasizing the importance of meeting the expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service held at the Assemblies of God Church on Sunday, December 15, 2024, Mahama stressed that failure to honour campaign promises could lead to a swift electoral backlash.
Drawing lessons from the defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the recent elections, Mahama remarked, “Just as our colleagues in the NPP might be feeling very pained by their loss, it should serve as a lesson to those of us coming into government that the same stick that Takyi has been beaten with, the Ghanaian people are reserving it for Baah.”
The president-elect underscored that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would face a similar fate if they failed to deliver on their promises, urging his team to prioritize the needs of the people to maintain their trust.
