The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to rescuing Ghana’s struggling economy, vowing bold reforms and a comprehensive revitalization plan if elected in the upcoming December 7 elections.
During a campaign tour in Nadowli and Wichaw, Upper West Region, Mahama delivered a message of hope and renewal, particularly addressing the concerns of the nation’s youth.
He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he termed as eight years of economic mismanagement, which he claimed had worsened the financial difficulties of many Ghanaians.
Mr. Mahama stated rising unemployment, stagnant wages, and the lack of economic opportunities, especially for young people, as key issues exacerbated by NPP policies.
He pointed to high inflation, unsustainable debt, and a weakened currency as evidence of the nation’s dire economic state, leading to widespread frustration and disillusionment.
“NDC will come and fix the economy,” Mahama assured the crowd. “I know many young people are losing hope and don’t see a future in this country. But as the former president and the incoming president, I appeal to you not to lose hope. This country will rise again.”
