Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Roads and Highways, has disclosed plans to open segments of the Kasoa-Winneba road, currently under construction, to traffic by the close of 2024.

During a productive visit to the Central Region, Mr. Asenso-Boakye reassured stakeholders of the project’s progress and pledged to expedite its completion. He commended the contractors for their diligent efforts, aiming to see significant portions of the road accessible before December.

“The contractors are committed to completing substantial sections of the road, allowing for traffic flow before the year’s end. To meet this goal, they have implemented round-the-clock work schedules,” affirmed the Minister.

Anticipating the relief this development will bring to commuters, especially during the holiday season, Asenso-Boakye emphasized the project’s importance in alleviating traffic congestion along the route.

The extensive reconstruction initiative, covering a 30-kilometer stretch, commenced in January of this year. It encompasses the construction of interchanges at critical junctions including Budumburam, Efutu, Ekoti, Sapato, and Winneba.

With these strides, the Minister aims to enhance transportation infrastructure, promising smoother journeys for all.
