A middle-aged man, captured in a video footage with a weapon during the clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party, NPP and the National Democratic Congress, NDC, at Mamobi in Accra, has been declared wanted by the Police.
A statement from the Police identified the suspect by his pseudonym as Fatau Motorway.
It urged the public to support the Police with credible information to get him and other perpetrators arrested to face justice.
Background
Nine persons have been injured in a violent clash between the supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The clash occurred in Mamobi, a suburb of Accra on Sunday, October 13.
This is contained in a press release issued by the police.
It added that “seven of the injured persons have been treated and discharged, while two others are still receiving care at the hospital.”
The Service assured the public that it has restored calm at Mamobi while an intelligence-led operation is currently ongoing to get the perpetrators who have been identified by the police arrested to face justice.
