MAMPRUGU YOUTH ASSOCIATION – BAWKU CHAPTER

CONDEMNATION OF THE AMBUSHING AND KILLING OF TWO PERSONS AND INJURING OTHERS BY KUSASI BANDITS ON MONDAY 27/11/2023

The Mamprugu Youth Association wishes to condemn the ambushing and killing of two persons whilst injuring two others by Kusasi bandits.

The deceased and injured were travelling in a bus from Kumasi to Bawku when their vehicle was ambushed and later set ablaze by the Kusasi bandits around the Kusasi suburb of Gingande. This condemnable attack comes after Bawku witnessed relative calm for several months. The attack follows a similar pattern to previous attacks like the ambushing and killing of 9 people who were travelling to Cinkasse by the same Kusasi bandits.

We call on the security forces to act swiftly to bring the culprits to book.
