A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for stealing a water meter belonging to the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
Richard Afful, who stole the water meter at Community 11 in Tema was arrested on Sunday December 24, 2023 by the police.
After investigations, Mr. Afful was put before the TDC Magistrate Court in Tema on Thursday January 4, 2024.
The court presided over by Benedicta Antwi sentenced Afful accordingly after he pleaded guilty to two counts preferred against him.
Afful was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on count one and three months imprisonment on count two.
He was also fined an amount of GHc10,000 and will spend additional four months in prison in default.
All the sentences are to run concurrently.
