The suspect had been on the run following the brutal killing of Akua Daboa in Wassa Hemanso, a community in the Wassa East District.

Reports indicate that the incident stemmed from a dispute over alleged infidelity involving the victim, the suspect, and another individual identified as Kobby.

The altercation, which began on Sunday around 4 p.m., led to an intervention by local authorities. Nana Yaw Appiah, the Mmrantiehene (youth leader) of Wassa Hemanso, revealed that all three individuals had been summoned to the palace of Hemanso’s chief, Nana Adutwi Abam, after Oboy Siki attacked Kobby. The latter is currently receiving medical treatment at Twifo Atti Morkwa District Hospital in Twifo Praso.

Following the incident, the chief ordered that Oboy Siki be handed over to the Daboase Police Command.

However, in a dramatic twist, the suspect managed to escape from police custody at Wassa Ateiku Police Station.

Hours later, he returned to the community and allegedly killed Akua Daboa in the early hours of the morning.

His shocking death has raised further questions, with community members left in fear and speculation surrounding the circumstances of his demise.

Meanwhile, the chief of Hemanso, Nana Adutwi Abam, has called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate how the suspect was able to escape and commit the crime.

Police have yet to release further details on the condition in which the body was found or whether any suspects have been linked to the murder of Oboy Siki.

Residents are urged to assist law enforcement with any relevant information as investigations continue.
