The Accra Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man seen in a widely circulated video making violent threats against police officers.

According to a statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Israel Agbo Forson, was picked up during an intelligence-led operation on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Forson, a filmmaker residing in North Legon, was seen in the video vowing to shoot any police officer he encountered.

“The suspect is currently on police enquiry bail and is assisting with ongoing investigations,” the statement noted.

The Ghana Police Service strongly condemned the threats, describing them as acts of incitement and obstruction that undermine public peace and the authority of law enforcement officers.

“Such conduct is not only unlawful but also threatens the safety and integrity of our officers and the broader community,” the Command emphasized.

Superintendent Obeng assured the public that the Police Service remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining law and order, and will pursue all necessary steps to bring individuals who engage in criminal acts to justice.

The Police further urged the public to refrain from acts or utterances that incite violence against officers, reminding citizens that respect for the rule of law is essential for a peaceful society.
